Amity University Gwalior organized a Seminar on Trends in Design and Development of Fuel Efficient Engines

Amity School of Engineering and Technology of Amity University Madhya Pradesh Located at Gwalior conducted a seminar on “Trends in Design and Development of Fuel Efficient Engines” on 01 August 2014. The seminar started with traditional lighting of lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Inaugurating the seminar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt Gen V K Sharma delivered his opening remarks by focusing on the importance of fuel efficient engines and recent trends in the development of fuel efficient engines for automobiles. Dr. C.S. Malvi, Head-Mechanical Engineering, MITS, Gwalior was the Guest of Honour for the seminar. He delivered the keynote address to the participants of the seminar on the use of solar photovoltaic thermal (PVT) systems as an alternate source of energy for future generation engines. Education an important tool to empower people: Kakodkar

Eminent nuclear scientist Anil Kakodkar has said education is one of the most important tools for empowerment of people living in urban and rural areas, though in a large country like India there is a problem to reach out to each and everyone.

Speaking at Amity university here, Kakodkar said Indians are lacking in fields of research because they “work as individuals and not as teams”.

Those who are in teaching think that doing research simultaneously would affect their teaching efficiency, and those doing research think that teaching would take away their concentration and focus from research work.

He suggested that teaching and research has to be aligned to enrich the quality of both research and teaching. He also asked educational institutes to work together with industry to mutually benefit each other.

Amity University celebrates World Environment Day

In a bid to raise awareness about the protection of environment, Amity Institute of Environmental Toxicology, Safety and Management (AIETSM) and Amity Institute of Environmental Science (AIES) in association with National Environmental Science Academy (NESA) celebrated “World Environment Day” at the University Campus.
