Amity School of Engineering and Technology of Amity University Madhya Pradesh Located at Gwalior conducted a seminar on “Trends in Design and Development of Fuel Efficient Engines” on 01 August 2014. Eminent nuclear scientist Anil Kakodkar has said education is one of the most important tools for empowerment of people living in urban and rural areas, though in a large country like India there is a problem to reach out to each and everyone.

Speaking at Amity university here, Kakodkar said Indians are lacking in fields of research because they “work as individuals and not as teams”.

Those who are in teaching think that doing research simultaneously would affect their teaching efficiency, and those doing research think that teaching would take away their concentration and focus from research work.

He suggested that teaching and research has to be aligned to enrich the quality of both research and teaching. He also asked educational institutes to work together with industry to mutually benefit each other.
