Six prodigies from Amity School of Engineering receives Italian Machine Tool Technology Awards at Italy

Six prodigies from Amity School of Engineering brought laurels to their institution and nation by receiving Italian Machine Tool Technology Awards (IMTTA) by Italian Trade Agency, Delhi (ITA) in Italy. Amity University is the only University from India that has been selected to be a part of IMTTA 2014.

Dr. Manoj Prasad, Senior Scientist, National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi delivered his talk to a large gathering of students including those from various schools of Gwalior . Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Gwalior has organized a five days National Workshop on “Latest Techniques in Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering and Computational Biology” from 13th October 2014 to 17th October 2014.
The workshop was inaugurated by lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana on 13 Oct 2014. In the inaugural ceremony, Ex-Professor Jiwaji University, Gwalior Prof. (Dr.) R. Amity University Madhya Pardesh Celebrates World Ozone Day

The World Ozone Day was celebrated by Amity Eco-Club, on 16th September 2014 with enthusiasm& zest. The aim of the event was to communicate the effects of ozone and its depletion on environment and human race. The programme was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Amity University Gwalior, Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd). In his opening remarks, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor spoke of the life cycles on earth. He also stressed upon the need to conscientiously consider the aftermath & long term repercussion of scientific inventions. The Vice-Chancellor’s address was followed by the presentation of Dean Academics Prof. (Dr.) R.S Tomar who spoke on ‘Environment, Society & Human Values’. Red Ribbon Club, Amity University Madhya Pradesh organizes AIDS Awareness Campaign

A Red Ribbon Club is a voluntary program, which has been initiated and supported by the AIDS Control Society of India. The objective of this club is to fight against AIDS, prevention of drunk driving and drug addiction. The Red Ribbon Club of Amity University Gwalior has organized an AIDS Awareness Campaign on 20 October 2014. In order to mark the occasion, a poster and collage making Competition/Exhibition was organized by the students of the university. The enthusiasm, creativity and awareness about the AIDS prevention initiatives were reflected in all the posters and collages exhibited by the students. As many as 49 entries were accepted and displayed in the competition.

Cleanliness Drive as a part of ‘Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan’ Launches by Amity University Gwalior

“Sanitation is more important than political freedom” Inspired by these words of Mahatma Gandhi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi has launched a massive public awareness campaign on cleanliness, “Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan”. To pay tribute to the Father of the Nation, Amity University Gwalior also participated in this massive campaign.

In the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan initiated on Bapu’s birthday acting Vice Chancellor of Amity University, Prof. (Dr.) R S Tomar called upon the teachers, staff members and students to take a pledge of Clean Campus, Clean Gwalior and Clean India and administered the pledge to all the participants.

All the teachers, authorities, staff members and students actively participated in this campaign and started the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan by cleaning the area of Block-A of Amity University Gwalior.

Day started with the floral welcome of Dr. Ram Kumar Mishra, Professor, Department of Biology, Indian Institute of Science Education & Research, Bhopal (M. P.) by Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Singh Tomar, Head, Biotechnology Department and Dean (Academics) Amity University, Gwalior.

In his talk, Dr. Mishra highlighted that in many scientific fields, modern research relies heavily on the use of DNA analysis to explore hypotheses at a genetic and genomic level.
