October 01 is observed as the world Blood Donation Day every year. The NSS Unit of Amity University Madhya Pradesh in its ongoing efforts to ‘give back’ to the society organized a day long camp in its premises. The objective of the camp was to collect blood for patients of Thalassemia.

This camp was conducted with the help of the doctors and the paramedical staff of G. R. Medical College Gwalior. Mr. P. Narahari, the Collector of Gwalior inaugurated the camp at 0930 hrs. He was welcomed by the Campus Head Prof. (Dr.) R. S. Tomar, Chairperson-NSS Prof.(Dr.) Bikram K. Bahinipati and Director-Administration Col. S. K. Sethi(Retd.). Around 300 students from Amity University and 100 students from various universities and colleges of Gwalior registered to donate blood for the sake of humanity.

The World Ozone Day was celebrated by Amity Eco-Club, on 16th September 2014 with enthusiasm& zest. The aim of the event was to communicate the effects of ozone and its depletion on environment and human race. The programme was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Amity University Gwalior, Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd). In his opening remarks, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor spoke of the life cycles on earth. Students of Amity University, Gwalior , celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5 Sept 2014 with gaiety and gusto . The event was presided over by Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd). Speaking on the occasion Gen Sharma referred to the life of Dr Radhakrishnan in whose memory this day is celebrated across India. He also drew attention to the eminent role that teachers play in everyone’s life.

The Hon’ble VC’s speech was followed by a documentary on the life of Dr. Radhakrishnan. This was followed by an Indian classical solo performance by a student as Guru Vandana. The evening saw many fun activities for teachers and stage performance by students. The campus of Amity University Gwalior came alive as the Orientation Programme for new undergraduate and postgraduate students commenced on 25 August 2014.

The Orientation Programme for the new students was of two days duration i,e 25 and 26 Aug 2014. The programme was organized in the University Auditorium. The aim was to familiarize the students with the various rules and regulations of the university and Amity System of Education and to introduce them to their faculty and respective mentors and break the ice between the students.

It is a tradition in Amity University, Gwalior to celebrate Independence Day and Republic Day with patriotic fervour. The faculty and students turned up in large numbers and took the pledge on this occasion to uphold the unity and integrity of our great country.
The function started with hoisting of National Flag by the Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Singh Tomar, Dean (Academics). The faculty members, staff and students gathered in the front of Academic Block ‘A’ of the University. It was followed by singing of National Anthem and patriotic songs by faculty and students.
